This vintage has a very delicate nose, with wafts of perfume and flowers coming through. A medium bodied palate follows with round, but firm tannins lingering on the back of the tongue.
In 1992 the Schmitz family bought Hoopenburg wines, and went about establishing a quality driven boutique wine farm. With beautiful views from Table Mountain to Simonsberg, good soils and cool afternoon breezes the location is perfect for premium wine production. The Hoopenburg estate is unique in South Africa where 100% of the grapes are produced from low yielding bush vines. Nourished by pure underground water, the unique bush vines produce grapes of exceptional taste and flavour. The moderate climate of the area combined with the good soils helps to produce top quality grapes and wines across all three of the Hoopenburg ranges.
